Holiday Lets

What about holiday lets?

If you provide holiday accommodation in England or Wales for paying guests, you are legally responsible for taking measures to protect them from fire risks. One of the key requirements is conducting a fire risk assessment. Depending on your confidence and expertise, you may be able to carry out this assessment yourself, or you can choose to engage a professional for a thorough evaluation.

For detailed guidance, visit: Making your small paying guest accommodation safe from fire – GOV.UK

Once you have assessed the fire risks in your property, any fire safety equipment provided for guests must be accompanied by clear instructions on how to use it, along with a warning that such equipment is only suitable for tackling very small fires. Regular maintenance checks should also be carried out to ensure it is kept in good working order.

Note: If your property has a more complex layout, for example including communal areas, different fire safety guidelines apply. Further information can be found at the link above.
