Fire Safety Stick Stops Electrical Fire From Burning Down Home

“Without the Fire Safety Stick, we could have lost everything.” – Jim Bond

It was an ordinary Sunday lunchtime when what could have been a devastating house fire was averted thanks to the quick thinking of Jim Bond and his wife, as well as the remarkable efficiency of the Fire Safety Stick. Here, Jim shares his experience, highlighting how their quick thinking and their innovative fire extinguisher made all the difference.

“It was just a typical Sunday,” Jim recalls.

“My wife and I were preparing lunch, enjoying the usual weekend routine. Suddenly, we noticed the power had gone out. We realised something was wrong almost immediately.”

Jim’s wife decided to check the electrical consumer unit in the utility room to see which circuit had been tripped. As she opened the cupboard, to her horror, flames leapt out directly from the consumer unit and wiring.

“It was terrifying,” Jim admits.

“One moment we were cooking, and the next, there was a fire blazing inside the utility cupboard.”

Fortunately, the couple had recently invested in a Fire Safety Stick, the innovative fire extinguisher designed to be quick, safe, and easy to use.

“I grabbed the Fire Safety Stick and activated,” Jim says.

“And within just a few seconds, I had the flames completely extinguished.”

The ease of use was crucial. Amid the panic, the Fire Safety Stick’s straightforward operation allowed Jim to act decisively and effectively. There was no time to think, just to react. The Fire Safety Stick made that possible.

Living in a rural area meant the fire service took approximately 25 minutes to arrive.

“That’s a long time when you’re facing a live fire,” Jim reflects.

“Without the Fire Safety Stick, we’d have been powerless, just standing there watching our home burn.”

When the fire service arrived, they were astounded at how effectively the Fire Safety Stick had contained the situation.

“They were really impressed,” Jim recalls.

“Having inspected the area and couldn’t believe how little damage there was, considering the potential for the fire to spread.”

Of course, the consumer unit was destroyed but the only damage in the utility room was that of the fire itself. Usually, the aftermath of using a fire extinguisher can cause a lot more damage throughout the vicinity. However such damage can be a better price to pay than the complete destruction of the property itself as a result of a fire without any means of extinguishing it. This could have easily been the case, being in a remote area such that it took the fire service 25 minutes to arrive.

This example demonstrates the benefits of having at least some means of extinguishing a fire (such as an electrical fire in this case), and that all members of the family are trained and know exactly what to do in such an emergency. Because the Fire Safety Stick is certified for many more types of fires (therefore preventing the risk of the catastrophic effects of using the incorrect type of extinguisher on a particular fire class). Also, unlike many other extinguishers, the Fire Safety Stick does not leave any corrosive mess either.

At the time of writing, the exact cause of the fire remains unknown, but Jim and his wife are profoundly grateful that it didn’t escalate into a full-blown disaster. Jim informed the team here at Fire Safety Stick that they were so impressed, that they have now bought the sticks for each member of the family for their own homes too.

“It’s a small investment for something that could save your home – or even your life.”

More about the Fire Safety Stick!

🪶 Compact and Lightweight

Traditional fire extinguishers can be heavy, hard to handle, and awkward to store. The Fire Safety Stick, on the other hand, weighs less than a bottle of water (only 215g) and fits easily anywhere. It’s so portable that you can take it put it in a toolbox, tractor cab or keep it in your car for emergencies.

🔥 Multiple Fire Classes

Most traditional fire extinguishers can’t cover all major classes of fire and require to be paired with other means of fire fighting equipment to cover all bases. Whereas the Fire Safety Stick is certified for fire classes A – combustible materials (wood, paper, plastic, textiles etc), B – flammable liquids (petrol, diesel, alcohol etc.), C – flammable gases (propane, butane etc.), Electrical fires up to 100,000v (white goods, wiring, charging cables etc.) and F – cooking oils and fats.

Note: The Fire Safety Stick is not recommended for coal/charcoal fires and lithium battery fires.

⏳ Long-Lasting Firefighting Power

One of the standout features of the Fire Safety Stick is its runtime. A standard fire extinguisher might give you 10-15 seconds of use (a 1kg dry powder is 6-7 seconds), while the Fire Safety Stick can provide up to 50 or 100 seconds of extinguishing power. That’s a significant advantage when dealing with a stubborn fire.

🧹 No Cleanup Required

Ever seen the aftermath of a traditional fire extinguisher? Foam or powder everywhere ruining furniture, electronics, and anything else in its path. The Fire Safety Stick’s aerosol technology doesn’t leave a corrosive trace. This means you can extinguish a fire in your kitchen or near electronics without worrying about causing additional damage.

⚒️ No Annual Servicing

For a pressurised cylinder extinguisher to be reliable, and have the least risk of performance loss, it must be professionally serviced every year. The Fire Safety Stick does NOT need any professional servicing, as it is not pressurised with no moving parts. Just a simple maintenance spot check is involved such as checking under the top cap and checking the striker cap.

🌳 Safe and Eco-Friendly

The aerosol released by the Fire Safety Stick is non-toxic and doesn’t harm the environment. It’s also safe to breathe in, unlike the harsh chemicals in some traditional extinguishers. Plus, it has an impressive shelf life—minimum of 15 years! Compare that to a standard fire extinguisher, which should also be regularly serviced and refilled to maintain optimum working operation.

😌 Easy to Use

Forget the pins and levers. Using the Fire Safety Stick is as simple as removing the cap, striking the ignition like a match, and pointing it at the fire.
