It was an ordinary Sunday lunchtime when what could have been a devastating house fire was averted thanks to the quick thinking of Jim Bond and his wife, as well as the remarkable efficiency of the Fire Safety Stick. “It was just a typical Sunday,” Jim recalls.
“My wife and I were preparing lunch, enjoying the usual weekend routine. Suddenly, we noticed the power had gone out. We realised something was wrong almost immediately.”
Jim’s wife decided to check the electrical consumer unit in the utility room to see which circuit had been tripped. As she opened the cupboard, to her horror, flames leapt out directly from the consumer unit and wiring.
“It was terrifying,” Jim admits.

This could have easily been the case, being in a remote area such that it took the fire service 25 minutes to arrive.
This example demonstrates the benefits of having at least some means of extinguishing a fire (such as an electrical fire in this case), and that all members of the family are trained and know exactly what to do in such an emergency.
